ABOUT

My name is Dr. Jay Daniel Thompson and I am the Director of Jay's Academic Proofreading. I specialise in proofreading and editing academic writing: theses (PhD, Masters, Honours); postgraduate and undergraduate essays and reports; academic articles; books and monographs; and CV's (including academic CV's).

I also take on non-academic assignments.

I hold a PhD in humanities from the University of Melbourne, and have over a decade’s worth of experience in academic editing, writing and teaching across a range of disciplines. I have worked closely with academics and students in the sciences, health sciences, humanities, social sciences and education. I bring this diverse experience to bear upon my proofreading work.

I am based in Melbourne and provide my services to clients Australia-wide, as well as internationally.

My turnaround times can be as little as 24 hours, depending on the size of your assignment.

I am also willing to tutor students on a one-on-one basis to help them develop their reading, writing and research skills.

I am a member of Editors Victoria and the Institute of Professional Editors Limited. I undergo regular professional development on various aspects of the editing and publishing industries.
